This morning, my wife and I sent our kids back to school. Our son is entering 1st grade, and our daughter is entering 4th. And just like I have been doing ever since my daughter entered Kindergarten, we sent them off with six words. Six words I don’t think I have ever skipped a (school) day telling them. Six words that I want to define them. Six words I want to share with you.
They are this: “Be brave. Be kind. Have fun.”
Maybe you could use this encouragement today. Maybe you want to adopt them with your own kids. Whatever you need to do with them, do it. Below I’ve outlined my hope for how my children will embrace each word, as well as provided a Bible verse that captures the essence of what I’m hoping for them. I pray they are encouraging to you as well.
Be brave.
