There are some things I hear or learn and I practically run to my keyboard to turn them into a post for you. And then there are things I hear or learn that I have to let stew. Steep. Marinate.

Today’s post has been marinating for some time. I’ve chewed on it for months like a cow on its cud. And now it’s time to bring you in. Because I want you to see what I have seen. Maybe it will be as life-changing for you as it has been for me.

Here’s the summary: I think we’ve misunderstood the Bible’s King David. Grossly. And I think some of his most grotesque actions—including rape and murder—are the result of some deep woundings that have been right in front of our faces the whole time, but that we’ve missed.
