I wonder what would happen if you lived life with the windows open? If you drove through life with the windows down.
It’s an interesting concept. One that hit me this morning as I was reading the story of Daniel. Sure, many of us know the “lion’s den” story. But do you realize how he got to the den? Do you realize what specifically he did to end up there?
Daniel 6 shows us. But specifically Daniel 6:10. There, after hearing that the king was tricked into making a decree that made it illegal to pray to anyone else but him, Daniel didn’t flinch. He went home and did what he always did: he prayed to God.
That’s exactly what his enemies—who had tricked the king—were banking on. But here’s the interesting part: the only reason his enemies knew he was praying is because Daniel prayed with his windows open. Even after he learned of the consequences of doing so.
In other words, he didn’t go home and retreat to his “prayer closet.” He didn’t keep praying while making sure to be quieter. He did…
