"You know that thing that God has stamped on your heart and told you to do? You should do it. And then keep doing it." Yes, yes and yes. Thank you for the reminder and encouragement.
OH how this resonates with me today! I have been struggling with my intense desire to have a closer walk with Jesus and yet have not heard his voice lately and my quiet times have been, well, VERY QUIET. Just this morning I read a reminder to "go back to the last place you heard God tell you to do something and be sure to do that." I immediately remembered that He spoke to my heart that I am to write letters to my "eight enemies" (who damaged me and/or my business over the years). I am to write them with lovingkindness and tell them that I forgive them and that I am praying God's blessings for their lives. In order for me to keep the main thing (Jesus as Lord, me as the servant!) the main thing, I gotta make sure I doing what He told me to do! THANK YOU for the encouragement!
In awe of your connection with God and am grateful you are here sharing it consistently with the world. Thank you for the inspiration. I am very fond of the quote and repeat it often to myself and clients, "often the most important thing is remembering the most important thing" -Roshi This was particularly thought provoking right now as I have so many creative projects in the wings that I often ask lightly if they are messages from God I am brining into form or avoidance of that ONE thing I know clearly. Funny enough I zoomed out further beyond my writing specific "main thing" to have the insight my clinical work is actually my most important, and main thing. OOof and as I type I am realizing I have a hard time with this "main" thing thing. I am want to bake my cake and eat it too. Anyway I think I will be taking this wisdom pearl and prayer into my week so thank you for being a the messenger that you are.
Funny, I've read Jeremiah a few times and I didn't remember that story so heading over there again. I have a young friend in his early 40's who's trying to stop drinking and it's dangerous because he's having seizures. He wants to serve God. He has to leave behind his business and people who depend on him to go to rehab. Alcohol is so difficult. It's so prevalent in society. Looking forward to reading more of your story.
This is the first time that God has used Jeremiah to prod me. It's usually Jonah or Nehemiah. He's asked me to write about a cult church I was in for 20 years. I am but I haven't been totally obedient. There are always other things getting in the way. I'm finding it easier to write about addiction and homelessness these days. So thank you for sharing that quote. I'll be keeping that in front of me.
Love this Jon! May the Lord bless you and keep you.
Thanks, Eve!
